The United States Embassy Cambodia staff members and the United States Embassy to Cambodia W. Patrick Murphy celebrated the 247th Independence Day of the United States of America at Sofitel Phnom Penh Hotel. The Embassy members expressed their pleasure and informed some more updates from the event.
While sharing the updates, The United States Embassy Canada staff members and the United States Embassy Cambodia took to their official social media handle today, Saturday, June 1, 2023.
The Embassy expressed their pleasure and gratitude to celebrate the 247th Independence Day and recognise the contributions of everyone to make their nation independent.
As per the update, there were over 600 guests in attendance, including Officials, diplomats, partners, and friends. The Embassy also shared some glimpses from the event.
Further, while reporting more points from the event, the Embassy shared that the atmosphere was electrifying. H.E. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice-President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority, represented the Royal Government of Cambodia as a Guest of Honor at the event.
The theme of the US Embassy’s Fourth of July celebration – “For the Love of the Game” – paid tribute to the cultural importance of sports in the United States and Cambodia in promoting understanding, respect, and friendship.
Furthermore, the Embassy also reported that the event featured a basketball contest, an American football display, and a soccer demonstration with Cambodian American professional soccer player Nick Taylor.
At last, The United State Embassy expressed their pleasure and gratitude and thanked everyone who attended yesterday’s fun-filled celebration. The Embassy also extended their heartfelt satisfaction to greet the invitees, Ambassador W. Patrick Murphy and other dignitaries for attending the event and putting their contributions to celebrate the 247th Independence Day.
