Chancellor Scholz slams Iranian Regime for executing two Iranian protestors

German chancellor Olaf Scholz criticised the Iranian Regime for executing two Iranian protestors, Mohammad Hosseini and Mohammad Mehdi Karami.

Their execution was made because they raised their voice against the Iranian Regime, sparking global outrage. Both were accused of killing a member of security forces during ongoing protests in Iran.

The implementation of Islamic law, an ongoing economic crisis, restrictions on free speech, violations of women’s rights, acts of violence committed during protests, internet blackouts, and the murder of Mahsa Amini were some of the factors that sparked civil unrest in Iran in 2021–2022, which is still going on today.

Chancellor Scholz made the sad observation that the Iranian government uses the death sentence as a form of repression. He asked Iran to release those wrongfully detained and stop carrying out death sentences.

According to Local Iranians, Mohammad Hosseini had no immediate family to receive his body after his execution. He was buried near Mohammad Mehdi Karami’s grave in Eshtehard, Alborz. Mehdi’s family also attended to Mohammad’s grave, lit candles and placed flowers in his memory.

Hosseini was arrested during protests in Karaj, Iran. He was severely tortured while in prison. The Islamic Republic executed Seyed Mohammad by hanging on the morning of January 7, 2023. He was 39 years old. It is anticipated that 506 Iranian residents have been killed in the protest since 2021.

The world is paying tribute to the two protestors who bravely raised their voice against the Iranian Regime that trampled the freedom of speech and violated women’s rights in the country. The U.S. also honours the fallen protestors who lost their lives in these crises.

Ana Sami, Attorney at Law in D.C., honours the victims of the Iran protest and urges the White House to pay attention to the voices of the Iranian people who are asking for regime change so that they do not have to face a repeat of the past.
