The FEU Manila – Institute of Education, in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office – Manila of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, is proud and pleased to invite you to participate in a Free Professional Development Program called Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Camp on Fostering Student Motivation and Engagement (FSME).
The FEU, Far Eastern University, is the private non-sectarian University in the Philippines, Manila, which provides diversified education courses, including the arts and sciences, architecture, fine arts, education, engineering, computer studies, graduate studies, tourism and hotel management, law, nursing, and medicine.
This time the FEU Institute of Education in the Philippines and Manila has opened a Free Professional Development Program called Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Camp on Fostering Student Motivation and Engagement (FSME) for all the IE Faculty and Students.
Fostering Student Motivation and Engagement (FSME) is an online course the University of Oregon provides. It is designed for English language educators or “participants” who want to improve their teaching practices and increase their students’ level of motivation and engagement in learning English.
Participants will learn about key concepts and current practices related to motivation and engagement; student needs analysis, community building, differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, project-based learning, gamification and classroom games, formative assessment, and metacognition.
Each participant will create a portfolio of activities and ideas that can contribute to increased student motivation and engagement in English language learning.
