PSG Paid tribute to Pele during match against Angers

The biggest club in France, Paris Saint-Germain, paid respect to the late football legend Pele, who passed away on December 29, 2022, after battling Collen cancer at a Sau Paulo hospital.

At the beginning of the match at Le Parc des Princes, every PSG star, including Marquinhos, Neymar, Mbappe, and other team players, wore a shirt with Pele’s face on it to pay tribute to the legend during Kick off.

Also at the stadium wearing Pele’s jersey and participating in his first game since the Qatar World Cup 2022 was Lionel Messi, who had just returned from Argentina, where he was celebrating Argentina’s World Cup victory. He also paid homage to Pele, a legendary football player.

Lionel Messi, who had just returned from Argentina, was also seen wearing Pele’s jersey and participating in his first game since the Qatar World Cup 2022. He took some days off to celebrate Argentina’s World Cup victory and paid homage to Pele, a legendary football player.

Before the game started, both teams gave a minute’s worth of ovation to O Rei (The King) in recognition of his significant contribution to football.

In September 2021, Pele underwent surgery to remove a colon tumour, and he has since received ongoing care. The journey of King Pelé, who went away peacefully on December 29, was distinguished by inspiration and love.

After paying tribute to Brazilian pearl, Hugo Ekitike’s goal in the fifth minute of play gave PSG an early advantage after the game had begun following a special tribute to Pele. The club prefers to play defensively rather than aggressively.

PSG maintains an astounding 67% of the game’s ball possession, which reduces the opportunities for opponents to launch a counterattack.

The 72nd minute of the game saw Argentina’s Lionel Messi score again after returning to the World Cup, extending the lead and securing the victory for his team.

Due to Messi’s position at the time of the goal, the referee raised the flag for offside, but following a video review, it was declared a clear goal. PSG continues to top the Ligue 1 points standings with 47 points after another victory. On April 23, they will meet Angers for a second time.
