Real Madrid announces 23 men’s squad to face Liverpool

Real Madrid, a 14-time UCL champion and Spanish powerhouse, revealed its 23-man lineup for the first leg of the round of 16 matches against Liverpool at Anfield today.

Considering Liverpool is currently in poor form and is currently ranked eighth in the Premier League, they will miss the Champions League and Europa League for the season 2022–23, making it extremely difficult for them to compete against the champions of the Club World Cup and the 2021–22 season.

In both of their most recent meetings, which took place at UCL finals in 2017–18 and 2021–22, Real Madrid defeated Liverpool. Vinicius Junior, a striker for Real Madrid, scored the game’s only goal in the 59th minute of their last encounter.

If Madrid’s goalie Thibaut Courtois hadn’t been on the field that evening for Real Madrid, the game’s outcome might have been different.

Despite Madrid’s deadly offence, which includes Benzema, Vinicius, and Rodrygo, the Belgian goalie presents a significant challenge for the reds.

The 23 men complete Real Madrid team versus Liverpool are listed below:

Forwards: Vinicius Jr., Alvaro, Benzema, Hazard, Alvaro, and Asensio

Midfielders: Camavinga, Modric, Valverde, Arribas, Ceballos, and Martin

Defenders: Militao, Rudiger, Miliola, Nacho, Vallejo, and Vazquez
Goalkeepers: Lopez, Lunin, and Courtois

Mohammed Salah, a crucial striker for Liverpool, demonstrated his eagerness and enthusiasm for the game. When UEFA officials announced that Real Madrid and Liverpool would play each other in the round of 16 following the UCL draws, Salah posted on his social media accounts that he wanted to play Madrid.

Salah has a second chance to showcase his talent against Real Madrid after falling short in both of their UCL finals. The team has two UCL championship victories over Liverpool and 14 UCL titles overall.

Salah sustained a shoulder injury in the 2017–18 Champions League final as a result of a tackle by Madrid’s captain, Sergio Ramos. Salah declared on social media before the UCL final 2021–22, “We have a score to settle,” implying that he was ready for retaliation for what transpired during the final in 2017–18.

But, things didn’t go according to plan, and the Egyptian could not defeat Real Madrid to win the Champions League championship. Due to his losing to Real Madrid once more, he received trolling on social media.

Although it was challenging, Salah continued to make it known that he wanted to play more games against Madrid. He has never defeated the Spanish powerhouse, so if he wins tonight’s game against Madrid, it will be a notable career accomplishment.
