PM Terrance Drew delighted to meet two growing businessmen, shares experience

Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, met with two young businessmen who have been managing and operating the Federation’s refreshing drink of jelly water business. Yesterday, on March 23, 2023, he praised both children on his official social media account.

“Stopped to enjoy a cold drink of jelly water from these two young businesses functioning in the Camps community,” the Prime Minister wrote on his official Facebook account.

The government of St. Kitts and Nevis has been working to improve and grow small businesses around the country, offering employment and opportunity to the young population.

In addition, earlier this week, the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) of the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship hosted a training programme for small business owners. The workshop took place at the CUNA Convention Centre. The workshop’s goal was to focus on grant preparation.

According to Delrine Taylor, Permanent Secretary of Small Enterprise, 78 people enrolled for the session.

“It’s fantastic because it shows how ready individuals are to take on these duties and learn new skills.” Because our major goal is “Your Development, Your Success,” we hope to see you at more of our courses and events. If you succeed, we will be happy because it will show that the Ministry is meeting its objectives,” Taylor remarked.

While welcoming the participants, PS Taylor remarked during the occasion that the Ministry would continue to adopt plans and strategies to improve small business owners’ lives and companies. She also stated that the Ministry would provide all required technical assistance.

“We want to be more active in delivering workshops so that you can be more informed about what is happening and areas where we can develop small businesses because it is our mission to transform the micro, small, and medium-sized sectors of the nation through entrepreneurship and economic value creation.

Minister Taylor also remarked that by doing so, the government of St Kitts and Nevis wants to help entrepreneurs be more self-reliant and resilient.”

According to the update, comparable courses will assist small and medium-sized firms for a period of twelve (12) months.
