Bulgaria celebrated International Teacher’s Day Yesterday, Thursday, September 5, 2023, and honoured all the teachers in the World. The Bulgaria Ministry of Culture also recognised teachers’ efforts and wished them a happy holiday.
As per the Update, World Teacher’s Day is held annually on October 5 in honour of all teachers. Along with Bulgaria, 100 more countries joined to celebrate this special day.
The anniversary of adopting the UNESCO Recommendation in 1966 is celebrated on the Status of Teachers, which determines indicators about the rights and responsibilities of teachers and standards for their initial training and further education, recruitment, employment and teaching and learning conditions.
The recommendation on the status of teaching staff in higher education was adopted in 1997. , to add to the 1966 Recommendation by covering the teaching staff in higher education.
World Teacher’s Day has been celebrated since 1994.
The Ministry of Bulgaria remarked it as a day to celebrate how teachers transform education, reflect on the support they need to fully unlock their talent and vocation, and rethink the global path for the profession.
They also reflected the Mission of the “Teacher”, which is worthy of respect in all cultures and societies as it builds the future of each nation.
The Ministry wished teachers a Happy holiday and thanked them for making young people become individuals, mastering the ability to think creatively and make independent decisions.
Further, they also urged teachers to continue to be inspired to ignite the spark of knowledge in the hearts of their students so that they can grow as dignified citizens of Bulgaria, Europe and the World.
