The citizens of Dominica are celebrating the occasion of extraordinary achievement by the athlete, Thea Lafond, in the recent Olympic Games 2024. While representing the island nation, the athlete scored a gold medal by giving the best performance of the year in the game.

Thea Lafond is a player who competes in the triple jump category. This year, she helped win the first gold for the country of Dominica in the Olympic Games. She covered a distance of 15.02 meters in her field event, which became an extraordinary mark of victory.

The government of Dominica also congratulated Thea Lafond on her achievement and celebrated the occasion. As the venture of the Olympic Games came to an end, Thea Lafond’s homecoming is being celebrated like a national festival. The government invited the residents to be part of the gathering, which will celebrate the return of the gold medalist to the homeland.

The celebrating people are ready to come together at Borough’s Square in Portsmouth, to begin with the motorcade. The venture in honor of Thea Lafond will start at 01:30 pm and will go to Roseau. After the motorcade, a celebration rally will take place at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium Forecourt.

Thea Lafond started at the top in her category, leaving behind Shanieka Rickketts of Jamaica, and collected gold in the triple jump for Dominica. Jamaica collected the silver medal, and the bronze was taken him by Jasmine Moore of America.
