The Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, Melissa Skerrit, invited the citizens of Dominica to celebrate the Easter Season with some thrilling events on March 31, 2024. The festivities are scheduled to take place at Peebles Park Playground. 

The events will be hosted by the members of Parliament from different constituencies. The people are asked to be a part of the celebration with family, fun and music.

Melissa Skerrit shared that an Easter themed movie will also be shown on the big screen, starting at 6:30 pm and residents will be given popcorn and sweets. Citizens have also been requested to bring their own blankets while watching the movie.

Notably, the first event will be “Hope on Over to our annual”, which will be started at 3 pm. The event is expected to provide an opportunity for the participants to witness the vibrant culture and thrilling celebrations of the season.

Another event, the Egg Hunt, allows the participants to explore the treasures hidden inside creamy 45 per cent milk chocolate decorated with craft jelly beans and natural sprinkles. Some of the games will be organized, especially for the children, such as musical chairs and face painting, among others. 

Noting this, those who win the games will be honoured with some exciting prizes. The Easter festivities gives a chance to build interaction and communication among the citizens of the nation. 

The second celebration of the day will be held at the Wotton Waven School Ground in Rose Valley under the assistance of Minister Dr Irving McIntyre. The minister invites the citizens and said the event will also include an Easter egg hunt.

“This Easter season, we are bringing some fun and cheer to our young ones as we launch our Easter Egg Hunt event. The celebration will be about exciting surprises, games and lots more”, Minister McIntyre added. 

The Soufriere constituency’s celebration for Easter Festival will be hosted by Minister Denis Charles at the Pointe Michel Playing Field. The event, which will begin at 1 pm, will include an egg hunt, games and music. 

Additionally, a transportation facility will be provided for the children. The people of Dominica took to their Facebook handles to express their excitement for the Easter events.
