Their clash was legendary despite the fact that Barca and the Red Devils did not frequently face off. United only won once, but Barcelona defeated United five times despite being the finest club in English football. Nine times, they were in front of one another. Barcelona has five victories, one victory over United, and four ties.

Both clubs brought some iconic football names against each other such as Lionel Messi, Puyol and Henry for Barcelona and Ronaldo, Rooney and Rio from United.

The Champions League final played on May 27, 2009, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy, marked the beginning of the greatest rivalry in football history. It was the first time Messi and Ronaldo had ever faced off. Barcelona won the game 2-0 to win the UCL championship for the fourth time.

Barcelona was demoted to the Europa League in 2022–23 due to their lacklustre Champions League campaign, where they will face Manchester United in the play-off round.

Barcelona and Manchester United have been rivals since 1984, and the two groups have frequently competed against one another in European championships. Despite competing in different leagues, they have one of the strongest rivalries in Europe.

At Camp Nou, the home field of Barcelona, the first leg of round of 16 UEFA Europa League match will take place. According to the predictions, the game will end in a 2-2 draw.
