Roseau, Dominica: The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Melissa Skerrit, expressed her delight as the Women’s Symposium concluded on a successful note. The event was held at the Fort Youngs Hotel on Saturday.
The Symposium was organized under the theme, ‘Find Your Peace and Purpose.’
Housing Minister Skerrit took to her official social media handle to share glimpses of the Women’s Symposium event. She also lauded the participants for their support and contribution to the smooth execution of the event.
“The Find Your Peace Find Your Purpose Women’s Symposium was an absolute success!! A huge thank you to our phenomenal featured speakers!! Thank you to all who came out to support, and to be supported by, this motivating group of women! And of course, thank you to everyone who came together to execute this vision. Teamwork truly makes the dream work,” she added.
Furthermore, she also shared glimpses of the event and extended a vote of thanks to the speakers who delivered a featured address. She appreciated the presence of all the women who participated in insightful sessions of the Women Symposium.
“It was such an inspiration to see all of you ladies”, she added.
It is to be noted that the event offered several opportunities to women across the nation to showcase their talent and focused on empowering them to become independent, inhale confidence, and exhale their doubts.
Melissa Skerrit touched on several topics of concern faced by women in society, especially in their day-to-day lives. She appreciated the teamwork that made the event truly the dream work.
Additionally, the event was co-hosted by two renowned speakers such as Dr Thesla Fitza Lewis and Donna Hinkson. Both of them brought their years of experience to the stage and had various exciting and engaging conversations with the women.
The Symposium was a part of programs organized by the Government of Dominica to raise awareness among women and motivate them to become self-reliant and empowered.
Meanwhile, following the event, several women expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Minister Skerrit for hosting such an interactive session.
“Saturday’s event was truly a wonderful experience, women are phenomenal and we must continue to uplift each other, thanks Mel for such a wonderful opportunity to meet with some of the most successful, motivating women of the Caribbean”, quoted one.
“Great initiative well put together I am requesting that this is done annually and it should be on our calendar of events each year”, commented another.
