In line with the month-long celebration of 28th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month, the Philippine National Police (PNP) successfully hosted the PNP Grand PCR Day on Sunday, July 23, 2023, a momentous event highlighting the importance of fostering strong ties between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The event took place at PNP Transformation Oval in Camp Crame early this morning and saw an overwhelming attendance of over ten thousand individuals, including guests and participants from various sectors of society.

The event’s Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHS) was Senator Aimee Marcos, whose presence added to the occasion’s significance. In her message, Senator Marcos commended the PNP for its commitment to establishing positive community relations and emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public in ensuring peace and progress.

“For any community to thrive, a strong and trusting relationship between law enforcement and its citizens is crucial”, Senator Marcos said.
Among the key highlights of the PNP Grand PCR Day was the official launching of the PNP’s partnership with the Anti-Crime Coalition for Peace and Progress International (ACCPPI).

Through a symbolic oathtaking ceremony administered by Senator Marcos, ACCPPI members pledged their support to work together with the PNP in the fight against crime and in promoting a safe and secure environment for all citizens.

Furthermore, the event also showcased the PNP Help and Foodbank with Bida Caravan, a visionary program that underscores the significance of providing aid and relief to individuals facing challenging circumstances, especially during national calamities. This humanitarian initiative is a testament to the PNP’s commitment to extending a helping hand to the most vulnerable members of society and exemplifies their dedication to serving the Filipino people beyond their call of duty.

The presence of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. further added to the event’s significance. He introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker. He expressed his full support for the PNP’s efforts in strengthening police-community relations and implementing programs that promote peace and progress in the country.

Meanwhile, the PNP Chief, Police General Benjamin C Acorda Jr extends his gratitude to all participants, partners, and advocacy groups and supporters who made this event possible saying “Sa makabagong panahon para sa ating bansa at organisasyon, napakahalaga ang pagpapatibay, pagkakaisa at kahalagahan nang ugnayan ng mamamayan at kapulisan. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong pakikilahok at pagsuporta sa ating mga adbokasiya para sa seguridad at kaayusan ng ating bansa. Asahan ninyo na ang pambansang pulisya ay patuloy pa ring maglilingkod ng buong husay at tapat”.”

“Magsilbing inspirasyon tayo sa isa’t isa at ipamalas natin ang tunay na pagmamalasakit sa ating kapwa at bansa para sa “Bagong Pilipinas” na nais ng ating Pangulo, Ferdinand R Marcos, Jr. Let us work hand in hand to ensure that every community feels the protective embrace of law and order, and no Filipino is left behind in our quest for progress”, Acorda added.

The PNP Grand PCR Day celebration served as a platform to reinforce the importance of unity, cooperation, and understanding between the police force and the public they serve. It also exemplified the PNP’s continuous commitment to creating a safer and more secure environment for all citizens.
