Saint Lucia: On Friday, January 6, 2023, at about 4:30 p.m., Officers attached to the Marigot Police Station intercepted a suspicious motorcar at Morne Fortune, Castries.

A vehicle tracking was performed, and a 9mm pistol, with an auto sear and an extended magazine, containing twenty-eight (28) rounds of 9mm ammunition were.

The occupant, Troy Preudhomme, is a thirty (30) year old resident of Bexon. Malick Joseph, a twenty-three (23) year old resident of Corinth and Anthony James, a twenty-eight (28) year old resident of Monchy, was arrested and formally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.

The three individuals are currently in custody, awaiting a bail hearing. After a day, on Saturday same incident occurred attached to the Gros Islet Police Station, which responded to a shooting at Degazon, Gros Islet.

Officers were informed that a male on a motorcycle sustained several gunshot injuries whilst riding in the area. He was conveyed to the OKEU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner. The deceased was formally identified as Rayjay Modeste, a twenty (20) year old Morne Serpent, Gros Islet resident. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for a subsequent date.

The nineteen (19) year old female pillion rider also sustained injuries and is currently in stable condition.

Saint Lucia Police appealed public that anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the significant Crimes Unit at 4563754 or the Crime Hotline, 555, for anonymous reporting.
