Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis reported that on March 12, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority hosted a special welcome ceremony to celebrate the inaugural flight of inter Caribbean Airways to St. Kitts.

The ceremony honours the newly established partnership between inter Caribbean and St. Kitts, which will tremendously assist with making the destination more accessible within the region than ever before.

The collaboration between Inter Caribbean and St. Kitts will strengthen the tourism sector and speed up travel to the country, as the twin islands of St. Kitts and Nevis are popular tourist destinations throughout the Caribbean.

This new offering is set to increase the number of regional travellers to the Federation, which will positively impact the destination’s Summer of Fun activities, namely, the St. Kitts Music Festival, Nevis Mango Festival, Restaurant Week, Culturama, CPL T20, and the newly introduced Kittitian RumMaster Program.

PM Drew was present at the time of the ribbon-cutting ceremony and congratulated everyone on the arrival of the first inter-Caribbean flight to St. Kitts and Nevis. Along with him, Marsha Henderson, Tourism Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley also attended the event.

Other attendants were Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign affairs, Garth Wilkin, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs and several other members of the Tourism Ministry.

In addition, Minister Drew also shared the images of the first Inter-Caribbean flight touching down at the Robert L. Bradshaw International airport in St. Kitts.

During the arrival, the aircraft was given a water salute after its touchdown, and its passengers were welcomed with traditional music and dance. PM Terrance Drew and Deputy PM Geoffrey Hanley received the flying crew to the twin island federation for the first time.

Inter-Caribbean Airlines’ involvement in Saint Lucia’s tourism industry will increase the number of visitors to the twin island federation as the flights will arrive three days a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
