The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared about the completion of the training session on the study of standards of International humanitarian law (IGP) Sergeant staff of the armed forces of Ukraine recently.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took to their official social media handle to share about the completion of the training session on the study of standards of International humanitarian law (IGP) Sergeant staff of the armed forces of Ukraine recently. The Armed General Forces shared that around 200 male and female service members were captured in five garrisons. The events were held within the framework of the Geneva Center for Security Governance (DCAF) project activities together with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
During the classes, the listeners have had a unique opportunity to enrich their knowledge with modern international practices and exchange practical experiences on MGP issues gained during combat with the Russian aggressor. Classes were held by the go ” @TAG” team, including the project manager – captain one rank reserve Andrei Korenʹkom and other experts and experts.
A high assessment of the quality and direction of the training was provided in the Office of the Work with the Sergeant Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where it was noted that “dissemination of knowledge from the MGP among the sergeant staff is currently extremely relevant for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After all, the junior commander is the first mentor for many personnel that takes direct combat encounters with an opponent on the battlefield.”
Reportedly, DCAF-supported DCAF project in-depth study has been carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine since February 2023. The implementation of the project is taking care of the NGO “League of Officers”, which has a “Memorandum of Cooperation” with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In general, the experts have conducted training for over 300 sergeants zs of Ukraine.

Another training series on studying the norms of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) by sergeants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has ended. In total, reaching more than 200 servicemen and servicewomen in five garrisons was possible. The events occurred within the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) project activities with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
During the classes, the students had a unique opportunity to enrich their knowledge with modern international practices and exchange applied experience on IHL issues acquired during combat battles with the Russian aggressor. The classes were held by the “Officers’ League” NGO’s team, particularly the project manager – reserve captain 1st rank Andriy Korenko and other experts.
The Department for Work with the Sergeant staff of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine gave a high assessment of the quality and focus of the training, where it was noted that “spreading knowledge of IHL among non-commissioned officers is currently extremely relevant for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After all, the junior commander is the first mentor for many personnel who directly participate in combat encounters with the enemy on the battlefield.”
