Nury Vittachi shared that the Western media is downplaying what may be among the most serious of the revelations of the files leaked by Jack Teixeira, an airman who recognized that his government was behaving as a dark force–and who was arrested Thursday, April 13, 2023.
He also shared that espionage on the United Nations is illegal under numerous international laws and has been since at least 1946.
Meanwhile, several critics inside the US revealed that America had come to see itself as an autocratic global power above international law and not subject to the rules of the United Nations after 1993.
Nury stated that The circulation of Pentagon files is a matter of grave concern as many times it’s on target. Before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, US spies were revealed to have secretly penetrated the offices of senior UN staff.
In 2010, Julian Assange’s Wikileaks organization exposed a cable which instructed US staff to spy on figures at the UN, including Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council delegations of Russia, China, France, and the United Kingdom.
He also shared that the Files released by Edward Snowden showed that in 2012, the NSA had infiltrated the UN’s private internal video conferencing system.
