The United States Department has allocated $ 1.86 million to six non-governmental and three international organizations to support Ukrainian refugees. The US Embassy in Riga, Latvia, extended their pleasure for the most significant contribution of the U.S. government to support Ukrainian refugees in Latvia.
While announcing the news of the allocation of $1.86 million from the United States Department of State, the US Embassy extended their pride and gratitude to the United States Department for their continued support.
The United States Ambassador, Christopher Robinson, was also pleased. He highlighted the contributions of Latvians to help the Ukrainian refugees. He said, “Latvians have inspired the world with their generosity by taking in more than 40,000 Ukrainian refugees.”
“We hope the US government funding announced today will help fill critical gaps in refugee assistance, including psychological and physical rehabilitation, social integration, language skills improvement, and legal counsel. In the coming months, we look forward to working with partner organizations to support refugees in Latvia.”
The US Embassy in Riga, Latvia, to honour and thank the United States Government, with their partnered organizations gathered at City Hall for Friday announcement ceremony, along with Riga Mayor Vilnis Ķirsis and Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia Anatolii Kutsevol.
