As per the update, the Embassy partner, Nthati Letsie and her business, Nthati Bicycle Technicians, only Lesotho’s trained bicycle technician, Nthati has made it possible for cyclists to access high-quality mechanical services without having to look beyond their borders.
Born in Maseru in 1992, Nthati’s professional journey began in 2014 when she joined the renowned Lesotho Sky bicycle race events team as a volunteer. Initially involved in branding and administrative tasks, she developed an interest in bicycles. Determined to master her craft, Nthati completed a training program at the Torq Zone Academy in Pretoria, South Africa, in 2021. There, she honed her skills in bicycle assembly, servicing, and repair, delving into the intricate workings of each component.
Breaking stereotypes and overcoming challenges, Nthati takes pride in being a service provider, finding joy in assisting clients with their bike-related needs. She has an educational background in hospitality, which instilled in her the importance of delivering exceptional customer service.
Nthati aspires to see more women join the industry, challenging the notion that bicycle mechanics is exclusively a man’s job. Nthati’s determination and passion for the mechanical intricacies of bicycles set her apart as a skilled technician.
