On Friday, January 21, 2022, the Constitutional Council of France have approved the new pass of a vaccine against the COVID-19 pandemic, providing some conditions. So, with the new provision, the population of the country who are aged 16 and older than 16 have to show proof of immunisation to get entry in public spaces such as bars, restaurants and cinemas.

President Emmanuel Macron has commenced the vaccination drive in the country, and the new pass was part of that drive which further make life difficult enough for the small minority of the people who have not received the vaccine against the novel coronavirus. The unvaccinated people are compelled to get the jabs of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rule approved by the Council makes the way to come into effect on January 24, 2022. The new pass will replace the health pass that presented the proof of vaccination in which a recent negative test of the novel coronavirus showed if the person has been exposed to the infection in the past.

The Council further supported the government’s decision that people who are over 16 or 16 should have to present a vaccine pass as well as measures in the legislation further permitted the people to get access to the bars and restaurant managers to check a person’s identification. Moreover, the pass would also be used as a measure to identify the fake certificates that belong to a third party.

Further, the Council also capsised a requirement that the people should have to show the old health pass to attend the political rallies. The election will be held in France after three months, and the Council asserted that such type of provision would provide the platform to share their views and opinions.

The new vaccine pass brought new blazed the weekly street protests against the measures or restrictions of COVID-19 pandemic on public places. Some people also asserted that President has made them feel like second-class citizens.

France has reported a total of 425,000 people were exposed to the viral infection on Thursday, January 19, 2022, and also informed that the people who were in the intensive care unit of the COVID-19 virus were unvaccinated.
