A 25-year-old man has been killed after being attacked while trying to protect a group of women during a Gay Pride parade last weekend in Munster, Germany.
He has succumbed to the injuries on Friday.
The man had reportedly intervened when an unidentified assailant insulted, with homophobic remarks, a group of women who were participating in the event.
“The attack was reportedly in response to the young man’s attempts to mediate,” the police and the prosecutor’s office said.
According to reports released earlier by investigators, the man was punched, lost his balance, then was punched in the face once again. He then lost consciousness, fell, and his head hit the road.’
His attacker, aged between 18 and 20, fled on foot with another person. The police are actively searching for him.
