Rusty and his two brothers were rescued by a woman who heard their heartbreaking cries from a deep ravine. Fortunately, she managed to rescue all three from their plight and brought them to the shelter.

Two of his brothers are now adopted and live with their families in Sweden, but Rusty is still waiting for his luck. And now his best friend, Emma, is adopted too and has left the shelter.

Although the shelter is a safe place, it´s no place for a young dog to grow up in, and the once so happy and social puppy has now become a shy and rather anxious young dog.

The shelter life is devastating for him, and we hope he will soon be able to come to his forever home.

Rusty will need an experienced home with lots of patience, time and love to help him socialize. A home experience with shy dogs. The Lemnos Dog Shelter also believe that his future family should be relatively active and like to include their dog in their activities to ensure he gets physical and mental stimulation daily.

Rusty is about 1.5 years old, and he is handsome. He is a good and kind boy. He wants to get close to you and dares to take treats from you, but for the moment, he doesn´t want to be petted.

The Lemnos Dog Shelter shared that they are sure that he will learn to be the social and fearless dog he is meant to be in the right family.

They shared that they also have no idea about Rusty´s background, where he comes from, how he ended up in the ravine or who his parents are.

He gets along with the dogs at the shelter and even with the cats there.
His future family must also be prepared to continue teaching him everything about life in a home and let him get used to different environments – and be ready for life with a young dog – sleepless nights, “accidents” inside, maybe the occasional chewed shoe and so on.

But with love, time, patience and the proper training, They ensured that Rusty would make a family happy.
