On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Cruise Ship Silver Dawn voyaged to Post Csatries for her inaugural call on Saint Lucia under the management of Captain Luigi Rutigliano. The vessel arrived with 550 new passengers on pigeon island, accompanied by 404 crew members.

The elegant and modern, Silver Dawn is the tenth ultra-luxury ship to join the Silver Seas fleet (Muse class). She was built in November of 2021 and sailed her maiden voyage in April 2022.

Fincantieri built the new cruise ship Silver Dawn for Silversea Cruises, a high-end cruise line owned by the world-renowned Royal Caribbean Group. Silver Dawn’s christening was placed in March 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal. On April 1, 2022, the ship set out on her maiden journey from Lisbon to Barcelona, Spain.

This recently constructed cruise ship is 698 feet (212. 8 metres) long and 86 feet wide (27m). With a capacity for 596 passengers and over 410 crew members, it weighs about 40,700 tonnes. It can accelerate above 19.8 knots (36 KPH), which seems slow but impressive for a ship with such a heavy load.

Several Saint Lucian officials gathered at Port Castries during the ship’s arrival to welcome the vessel approaching the island for the first time.

Samantha Charles from the Ministry of Tourism, Amanie Mathurin from Invest Saint Lucia, Geena McPhee from the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, Christopher Gustave from the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, and Herman Joseph (Cox & Company) greeted the luxury vessel.

It is the sister ship of the Silver Muse and Silver Moon. While incorporating new features, it keeps the best aspects of its forerunners. The yacht has a maximum capacity of 596 passengers and a crew of 411 people. It has 11 decks in total.

The Venetian Lounge, which includes cabaret seating decorated in a Belle Époque manner, is another location where the ship screens full-length performances and feature films.
